This report documents the initial findings from an ongoing study aimed at providing an indepth understanding of land delivery processes in Mathare’s informal settlements. The study is driven by the belief that systematically documenting rights and claims to land, and how these play out in specific contexts, can lead to a better understanding of land markets and the interventions required to ensure broad access to land. Capturing and documenting the various interests in land can also contribute to effective spatial planning.
